You cannot always know with certainty what will happen tomorrow. These days even something that happened in the same way for the past five years can change tomorrow in a minute - whether it's property prices, volcanic eruptions, your job security or even people around us. Sometimes we get caught up with what will happen tomorrow we forget today. We pray and work for a car and when the car's here we realise that a 2 litre version would have been better and just before we celebrate we start praying and working hard again.
I'm all for progress, success and achievement, but if we wait for the 'destination' before we are content, grateful and happy, we miss the daily opportunity to enjoy and appreciate life as it is TODAY.
I'm realising that it's one thing to be content, it's another to remain content.
"Ish, if only my DVD player was Blu-Ray compatible." "5 more inches and my next screen will be 42" long". True as this may be, my only issue is when we forget to be grateful that: "hey last year I didn't have an car and today I do". Sometimes it feels like we're on a request train with God and every station is a new request opportunity and we'll only be thankfull when we get to the distination. |

Phillipians 4:7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." |
