Day 1 of 2010

Finally the 11th of June 2010 has come!

I still clearly remember in 2004 when we won the bid, that was an electrifying day. but, looking back now it’s like we had no idea what it would really feel like. That day I said to my friends: “seeing how crazy our celebrations now, if we win the World Cup make sure you’re not standing next to someone you don’t like because in that moment you might just kiss them” :)
	Here we go on another failed attempt to get into the FanFest! It’s like unless you sleep here the previous night there’s no way to make it in time to get in!
Feeling it @ Nando’s with Tawanda & Gregg. One day I’m gonna go into Nando’s with a live chicken and ask them to make me a mild peri-peri meal and demand a discount for bringing my own chicken. It could work hey??

Having not made it to the FanFest, we walked along the FanWalk to the Waterfront to watch the opening ceremony and the Bafana vs Mexico game there.

	I don’t know what we thought we’d get to see on the small amphi-theatre screen @ Waterfront with these hundreds of people going alongside…
	I guess no one cared

             It’s Official: Tawanda is the loudest Vuvuzela-blower! I felt sorry for the poor blowee.

Game time:

By the time we got to Waterfront it was too packed and the opening ceremony had started, so we decided to walk back to Greenpoint to find a restaurant where there’s a TV! So we partied back & landed @ Cafe Sofia. In the middle of the pic. is Lutho (the man who invented the shape of the soccer ball) LOL!

What a game (who had time to take pictures…)

	Didn’t anyone tell Chinelle not to play with food?? Now where is that Nando’s… It’s after the Bafana game & now we walk 1.5km (again) to the stadium this time to watch France vs Uruguay and the old man Thierry had better be there else my little sisters will kill me if I don’t bring back pictures.
