Quitting Tennis Biscuits

Sometimes you don’t realise you’re addicted until you try stopping..

My excuse I mean reason for devouring Tennis biscuits like crazy is that biscuits are the only treat I eat. Plus they’re not that bad. I’m sure peeps around me will testify that I don’t do chocolate, coke (I mean Coca Cola), sweets or junk food much so it makes sense to have one not-so-bad treat once in a while…even if that once in a while is one packet every two days…

Anyway, I’ve been told that biscuits are just as unhealthy and I think I finally agree after seeing some ehh physical manifestations… It’s either the biscuits or the metabolism is slowing down.

Long story short, I’m off biscuits until I can run at least 5 minutes without collapsing.

On a serious note:

I’ve quit them because I was amazed and annoyed at how difficult it was to stop eating them when I decided to slow down. I didn’t realise how much I’d crave them. OK I’m not gonna go all extreme coz I don’t believe in going the total opposite extreme and forsaking all known life but the idea of being addicted to anything just doesn’t sit well with me.

We’re not made to depend on material things for satisfaction. Whether the thing is healthy or not,  I believe any addiction is not good.

PS: In case you think I’m exaggerating: when I open a packet of Tennis, Marie, Lemon Creams or Eat Sum More biscuits I finish the entire pack in 30 minutes and not lose appetite…

10 days and counting…

  1. Hi-I know this post was written 10 years ago but I completely relate! I'm highly addicted to these biscuits and can finish an entire packet in one go too. So glad that I'm not the only one- these biscuits are absolutely divine! But I'm also giving them up soon! Thanks for inspiring me to QUIT!
