The weekend that was

What a weekend. Started with a video shoot on Saturday 7:30 AM for our upcoming church conference, ending on a high note on Sunday night hearing Kabelo Mabalane at church tell his story of how his life changed in the last few years.

On Saturday morning the conference media team shot a series of videos that will be used as backdrops for a hip hop song that will be performed during the last night of the conference.

I’ve always loved shooting videos & the idea of filming movies, so when this opportunity came I jumped to it &
4
helped shoot and co-direct the action with Mario Brown. It was an adrenaline-filled 5 hours!

After being Spielberg, Chinelle & I went for a late braai with buddies to celebrate Tamara’s end of term with the Denzel movie. She’s been working crazy hours for 5 months flat & in that time we saw her like 3 times.

Sunday
Sunday was always gonna be a nice one: our church invited Kabelo to come share his testimony of how his life changed after he turned to God. It was cool to see that he’s just a ordinary dude trusting wholly on God for his life. He’s no hype & no performance just a guy seeking true fulfilment. After church the music ministry leaders had lunch at Nathi’s house so we got to have a nice chilled afternoon with KB.

Then Nathi Ninja’d me for the evening service.. He wanted to do an ‘interview’ setup on stage for me to ask KB some questions about his life’s story before he preached. The aim was to get insight into his decision, how life has been for him as a Christian in the music industry, etc.

Kabelo
Again, hearing him you can’t help but realise his authenticity, it was very encouraging.
