Chinelle in her element creating a Winnie the pooh wall decor for Hannah, our niece.
I keep discovering new things about Chinelle. I knew she enjoys wood work but I didn’t know that she gets super passionate & focused for days on one project, paying meticulous attention to the smallest detail and giving hours upon hours to see the project through while dancing with excitement at every small milestone.
She’ll start with finding the final image online, then she prints it in the right scale, researches techniques to saw, mix colours, the right brushes to paint, etc and then she’ll systematically work on it every weekend.
This Tigger project once completed it’s a growth chart with an attached ruler to measure Joshua’s height as he grows. Joshua is Carin’s baby boy and Chinelle took this as a gift to Carin for her baby shower earlier this year.
She’ll often sit painting like this in the evenings for 3 or 4 hours until her back is sore and I have to peel her off the floor to take a break.
This one is about 1 meter wide and 600cm high to be hung in Hannah’s room who is about 5 months old.
