With Campus Ministry, you get to see students go from finding their feet in first year, to finding God, decide who they really are, wrestle with figuring out the purpose of their live and eventually leave campus for the real world. Can’t get used to it.
This year I saw these guys (who are now in their 4th year and are now like brothers to me) make the move from catering varsity residences to self-catering. It’s a normal thing but fascinating nonetheless to see them change every year and having to make new decisions every year.
Some of the typical and big questions on campus are:
”How can I glorify God through my career/studies?”
“How do I discover my passion and calling?”
”How do I know she is the one?”
”How can Christians be relevant in the real world?”
In Feb for the gents, as we drove from shop to shop, it was:
“Which side pot should I buy?”
“How many tomatoes does one need to make gravy?”, and
“Which microwave should I be buying?”
Campus Ministry is about preparing students for life. Once they leave campus our hope is that God would have imparted to them a solid foundation of who they are; given them a godly mechanism for decision-making as decisions get bigger and a sense of purpose for their lives.
Campus Ministry: Change the Campus, Change the World.
