I think this is the longest I've been away from home. It was difficult until we started doing daily video calls... then it got miserable: seeing everyone but not being together.
Video calls were a double edged sword: best way to speak to everyone but it left me really missing home.
Can't imagine what's it's like for families that find themselves apart for months due to work or other circumstances.
